Working with pre-loved materials introduced an element of chance: the color palette and texture were determined by what was available, making the sourcing as much a part of the process as the weaving itself.

Process

Most scrap pieces were 1–2 inches long. Each strand had to be knotted together by hand to build a workable weft length before threading could begin.
